We strive to maintain the standards of a
traditional brother and sister camp.
This means that the level of competition is adjusted to the skill
level and experience of the campers. Children with little or no
athletic ability are given equal opportunities to excel at their
own level. As a result there is also a diversity of teaching
intensity - advanced methods for the more serious athlete, and the
basics gently delivered for the beginner.
Forest and Indian Acres are traditional
camps, which means there is a fair amount of structure and demand
on the staff to be attentive and conscientious. The work is
sometimes hard, but hardly burdensome. For people who
love children, it's always a rewarding effort.
In a word, we're about children - kids and teens - making sure they
are safe, healthy, and happy while they spend a summer at fun,
play, and self-development. Of course they learn about sports, arts
and campcraft. They also learn to live together with other children
and adults, to respect not only their own needs, but the needs of
others and how to improve personally, while they improve their
relations with others. They learn how to have fun and experience
high achievement, and how to use their skills at communications and
to be part of a group. Finally, they learn the value of friendship
and how to form lasting relationships.
If you have the skill, and the heart, and you love a good time, we
not only have a place for you on our staff, we need you on our
staff.
